families. These services include airfare and bus tickets and advice on fund-raising and
setting up trust funds. AOTA publishes a newsletter for its members. Patients interested
in AOTA's services must be referred by their physician.

Burroughs Welcome, the manufacturer of Imuran and Zorvarax, supplies these medications at
no cost for indigent persons on a short-term (90 day) basis. Medications are shipped to
the physician treating the patient. A patient's physician must call the above number to
initiate the application process.

A nonprofit agency raising funds for individuals and families to help with transplant and
related expenses. The association works with adults and children. All funds raised go to
the individual. No administrative fees are collected for their services.

N.O.R.D. / SANDOZ DRUG SHARE PROGRAM

Sandoz Pharmaceutical Corporation, the manufacturer of cyclosporine, underwrites a program
administered by N.O.R.D. If you qualify for financial assistance, N.O.R.D. will issue a
voucher to cover part of your medication for a maximum of one year.

Provides community education and awareness about organ and tissue donation through
speakers and information programs. Works with pre and post transplant patients in a
limited geographic region. Provides limited funds in emergencies for costs such as rent,
utilities, and transportation.

Helps transplant candidates and recipients nationwide in obtaining transplants and
follow-up care and provides essential support and referral services. Provides clients with
fund-raising expertise and materials and assures that funds raised are properly dispensed.
Limited emergency grants are available for medications.

PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION
Transplant professionals must request the "Directory of Prescription Drug Indigent
Programs." This directory lists more than 55 prescription drug programs that member
companies provide to indigent patients. The programs are listed alphabetically by company.
Each program entry describes who is eligible, how to request assistance and what
prescription medicines are covered. For a Free copy, professionals must write

A regional group that provides assistance to a five-county area in Florida: Duvall, Baker,
St. John, Nassau, and Clay. Promotes education and organ donor awareness. Limited grant
funds available.

THE TRANSPLANT FOUNDATION

A national nonprofit volunteer organization providing grants to transplant recipients to
offset the costs of immunosuppressive medications. The number of individuals who can
receive assistance and the amount of the grants are decided by the total contributions
received each year. The organization also acts as a resource referral and an advocate for
the rights of transplant recipients.
