What exactly is the Second Wind Internet Mailing List?
The Second Wind Internet Mailing List is a list with over 250
subscribers who are waiting on a lung transplant, have had a lung transplant, or are the
caregiver for a lung transplant candidate or recipient. As a subscriber, you can ask
any question that you might have and receive meaningful answers from someone who has been
in your shoes. Even if you are too timid to actually post a question to the group,
you can learn many helpful things by just reading the various postings. Normally,
there are about 20 posting per day and you can request the list in a digest form, where
you receive all of the postings from the previous day in one large message rather than
receiving them each individually. There is also an on-line archive of all postings
to the list that can be searched for specific information. This list also serves as
a support system since almost everyone on the list is related due to their lung disease.
Try it..... you will like it!

Do I have to be a member of
Second Wind to be a subscriber to their Internet Mailing List?
No! While we would certainly hope that you would want to
become a member of our organization, you can subscribe directly to the internet mailing
list without being a member of Second Wind.
Subscribers may want to consider obtaining a free email account such as,
but not limited to, Google's Gmail or Yahoo's Ymail. These email services
seem to not have the same email blocking problems that most commercial
providers such as Comcast, Charter, Roadrunner, and others including the
free AOL email accounts. These commercial ISP have been, for some time,
bouncing or blocking LSoft listserv Second Wind email as well as other LSoft
lists. The Lsoft system automatically creates a Daily Error Monitor Report
when email is blocked for an individual and when the number of blocked
emails reach a certain number within a certain number of days, that
subscriber is automatically removed from Second Wind list (this is also true
for all LSoft lists). This means that the subscriber has to re-subscribe or
one of the list owners have to re-subscribe the individual. It has
sometimes worked if the subscriber contacts their ISP and explained that
Second Wind email should not be blocked but for the large commercial ISPs
this has not been true. LSoft and list owners have tried to solve the
problems but the situation is very dynamic and blacklists are always
changing so the issue remains in flux and unresolved. It seems that the
Gmail, Ymail and some other ISP don't have this problem."
